The research entitled Graduate’s Employability: A Tracer Study of the Caraga State
University Cabadbaran City on Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT)
Graduates for the Academic Years 2015 to 2018. The authors are Dr. Nathalie L. Daminar,
Ronald A. Monzon, Esther D. Tandog, Jackelou M. Madlos, and Federico M. Griño, and
published on Research Gate in January 2022. The researchers want to determine the
employability of graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology of Caraga
State University Cabadbaran City Campus from 2015 to 2018.
The study has to determine the employability of graduates of the Bachelor of Science
in Information Technology of Caraga State University Cabadbaran City Campus from 2015 to
2018. The researchers put limits in stating the research questions. It determines only the
employment status, sociodemographic profile, and socioeconomic background.
The descriptive quantitative research method they used is their strength as they utilized
the e-survey questionnaire through Email and Facebook Messenger. A convenient sampling
technique will be the strength of the study. The duration of the study is from September 2019
to May 2022, which happened pre-pandemic and during the pandemic may affect the
employability of the respondents. The researchers may have compared the before and during
the pandemic to the employability of the graduates. The placement of scale of interpretation
should be placed on the Analysis of Data and not on the results and discussions.
In the results and discussions, there are discrepancies with the study. The researchers
missed including the presentation of the graphical form of Table 5 and which has text
discussions. The results and discussions of the Tables are incoherent, inaccurate, and have
some typos. Future researchers may check the error in every detail of the results and discussions
to make them credible and reliable. Conclusions and recommendations are full of insights but some inconsistency details.
The research is for all aspirants and current students of BSIT to pursue this program and always
have a light on it. The study needs some improvements to make it credible and stand for quality
in research. Overall, the study highlights that BSIT graduates have relevance in what curricular
programs and activities they provide to their students, and it's still marketable to professional
work.
